Control pt.I 02:58
when you walk through the valley can’t believe in everything you see hey you want something from me take anything there is no control
2.
you used to make me laugh i quit work today with no real plan feeling trapped in a loop keep on smoking rings around all that i do and you hey look i’m doing okay i got a place got paid enough to get what i crave stolen luxury orange skies white streets lie close to me kiss me all over my body help me forget about everyone everywhere else don’t want to leave don’t want to see anybody to fall too far to crawl back up
3.
i thought i could love something else i thought i could offer up myself it’s hard to feel right doing anything at all for too long and on the night that i met you we both laughed ourselves to sleep woke up feeling like a new man walking in a daydream lungs in a vice you can’t afford can’t wait around all day for that lying here can you remember how many years since we didn’t have a home i’m getting better with time now starting to see how much has gone lungs in a vice you can’t afford can’t wait around all day for that teenage dream that timeless love
4.
call me i don’t want feel this way no more do you leave me like a raven with only one wing to use never thought i’d live here my whole life waiting tables hoping for a morning when i feel alright fading away in the night hey now you wanna start a fight caught in the middle these screens make my night look better than it seemed who knew right here in front of me can’t tell where this is going truth is whatever you say i had to learn to walk away from it all stand here alone if you gaze into the void will anybody hear you fall
5.
circular habits keep you in a cage insatiable stress you learn at a young age shadows move across the plain if you whisper in a river no one hears you get carried away spending much more than you make you work so hard but it’s on all the wrong things choose between two evil things then lay back down and tell yourself you’re free my every other thought is owned by a product or my boss all my heroes are gone and there’s no food left in the garden buy a couple things to make you feel happy type it out on a screen let the whole world know what you think
6.
can’t wait to get your own place carve your name out in the world whatchu think they need to see and hear and read up on the screen to make them believe when you die you cannot decide how you’ll go and be remembered what you do and what you say while you’re hanging out with me is all we’ll have left when you leave when i was younger i would’ve broke down at the thought of leaving you here along with everything i love
7.
how could you know the terrors that have forced my growth don’t wanna feel like i can’t take control or be myself or go slow i always knew i’d run away from here i felt too comfortable and now my path has grown unclear i saw your face across the room i tried to talk to you but felt it better to leave without you knowing i was here who cares who’ll remember in a dozen years
